Jetstar Asia to Fly to Cambodia

Jetstar Asia is looking to secure rights to operate from Singapore to Calcutta in India and Siem Reap and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

Despite the collapse earlier this week of merger talks with Valuair, the Qantas-backed Jetstar Asia is expanding its fleet, with plans to add a fifth Airbus A320 by the end of 2005.

Meanwhile, another Singapore-based low-cost carrier, Tiger Airways, backed by Singapore Airlines, is awaiting the go-ahead from the Cambodian government to launch services to the destination.
